Jonathan Poirier
Born February 23, 1982... Shoots left... Poirier was an all-state tennis player at Haverhill High School... Majoring in French with a minor in Economics at Union... Parents are Luc and Carole Poirier... Uncle Pierre Gagnon was a goalie for Macon of the CHL.
 
Junior Season (2004-05)
Played in 34 of Union’s 37 games... Finished tied for second on the team with 27 points on 11 goals and 16 assists... Was second on the team in assists and tied for second in goals... Tied for first on the team with eight power play goals... Led the team with 16 power play points... Finished tied for fourth overall in the ECACHL in power play goals and 12th in power play points... Named ECACHL Player of the Week on November 8th... Had eight multi-point games with the first coming in the season-opener against Colorado College on October 15th... Poirier put up a goal and an assist against the Tigers... Scored a career-high four points at home against St. Lawrence on November 5th with a power play goal and three assists...  The game against the Saints began a four-game point streak for Poirier and a seven-game unbeaten streak for the Dutchmen... Scored two goals in a game twice during the season... Poirier’s first two-goal performance was at Wayne State on December 10th... His second two-goal effort was at home against league opponent Yale on February 25th... Recorded two assists in game three of the ECACHL playoffs against Clarkson on March 6th... Appeared in all 22 ECACHL contests... Put up 15 league points on six goals and nine assists... Scored five goal on the power play in league games.
 
Sophomore Season (2003-04)
Played in 35 games for Union... Registered nine goals and 18 assists for 27 points... Finished tied for second in points and second in assists... Scored a goal in his first game of the season against Merrimack on October 18th... Recorded five muli-point games and four, three-point games... Ended the season on a five-game point streak with four goals and five assists... Scored 13 points over the final 11 games of the season... Had a three-point game (1-2) against St. Lawrence on November 7th... Tallied three assists against Vermont on November 15th... Had back-to-back three-point efforts with two goals and one assist against Princeton on February 28th and Clarkson on March 5th... Appeared in all 22 conference games... Scored four goals and had 12 assists for 16 points in ECACHL play.
 
Freshman Season (2002-03)
Played in 13 games... Made first collegiate appearance October 26th at Bemidji... Tallied his first career point with an assist vs. St. Lawrence on November 8th... Scored first two career goals in consecutive games at Yale on November 16th and vs. UConn on November 24th... Missed the final 18 games of the season due to injury.
 
Before Union
Played 70 games for the New Hampshire Monarchs under coach Sean Tremblay... Helped lead the Monarchs to the EJHL league and play-off championships... Was named to the EJHL all-star first-team and was named the all-star game MVP... Named to the New Hampshire 10th Anniversary Team... Totaled 101 points (50-51-101) during the regular season... Competed against current teammate A.J. Palkovich... Honor Roll student as a sophomore and junior at the Hun School of Princeton
