Box ScoreAfter falling behind early in the first period, the Union women's hockey team battled back with a pair of second period goals but conceded five in a row as they fell to Quinnipiac 6-2 at the Northford Ice Pavilion in the series finale between the two teams. Sophomore Linnea Edwardson (Duluth, MN) scored the go-ahead goal for the Dutchwomen, giving her team their first lead of the series. The Bobcats went on the offensive after that with three goals in the second and a pair in the third. Union is now 2-6 overall and is still seeking its first ECACHL win at 0-4.
Vicky Graham tallied a hat trick and added an assist, Antoinette Maldonado finished with four points, and Kathryn Dallimore added three assists to lead Quinnipiac, who is 3-0 at home this season. Overall the Bobcats are 4-5-2 and 2-2-1 in the league.
Kristin Emerick got Quinnipiac on the board early with her second goal of the season at 3:11. Antoinette Maldonado and Kathryn Dallimore assisted on the goal that found its way past Union goaltender Alex Zirbel (Clearwater, FL).
In the second period, Union would take a 2-1 lead with goals just eight seconds apart. Suzy Pocock (Sterling Heights, MI), the ECACHL Rookie of the Week, scored a power play goal at 3:20, her second of the season and third overall. Meagan Beck (Niskayuna, NY) recorded her third assist of the season on the play. Edwardson struck again for the Dutchwomen eight seconds later off a set-up from Elise Nichols (Pittsfield, MA). The lead would last for just 27 seconds though as Maldonado scored her second goal of the season to tie the game for Quinnipiac at 2-2. Graham and Nicolette Leone assisted on the goal. Trudy Reyns added the third Bobcat goal at 7:12 with assists coming from Natashia Pellatt and Ashley Jaffray.
Vicky Graham would score the team's next three goals, with assists coming from Maldonado twice, Dallimore, and Reyns. She completed the hat trick at the buzzer signaling the end of the game.
Connie Craig made 22 saves on 24 chances for the Bobcats, and Zirbel saved 28 of 34 shots she faced for the Dutchwomen.
This was the last game for Union in the month of November. The Dutchwomen return to action in a two-game series at Harvard beginning on Friday, December 2 at 7:00 p.m.
