Lowell, MA – Former Union College goaltender
Kris Mayotte (Pittsburgh, PA) has been signed to a Professional Try-Out contract with the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League along with former Boston College left-winger Ned Havern. In addition, Cody McLeod and Tyler Weiman have been reassigned to the San Diego Gulls. The Lock Monsters are an AHL affiliate of the NHL Colorado Avalanche and the Carolina Hurricanes.
Mayotte recently turned pro after completing his collegiate career at Union. He signed with the San Diego Gulls back on March 19th and made an immediate impact, winning his first two career starts. He is 2-1-1 in four games with the Gulls. Mayotte made 148 saves on 159 shots for a .931 save percentage and has a 2.69 goals against average.
The Lock Monsters have four games remaining in the 2005-06 season. They host the Portland Pirates tonight and play this weekend in a home-and-home series with the Manchester Monarchs on Friday and Saturday before Sunday's home finale against the Providence Bruins.
