SCHENECTADY, NY – The Union College women's swimming and diving teams defeated visiting Rensselaer, 158-84, in a dual meet at Union. The Dutchwomen improve to 4-0 on the season, while Rensselaer falls to 1-4 in dual meets this season.
Sara Callahan (Shelton, CT/ Shelton),
Mary Larkin (Conklin, NY/ Susquehanna Valley) and
Molly Freeman (Barrington, IL/ Barrington) posted multiple victories for the Dutchwomen. Callahan took first place in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:53.42 and won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:24.15. Larkin won the 200 individual medley and the 100 freestyle with times of 2:!5.38 and 56.33, respectively. Freeman made a national consideration score of 248.24 in the 1-meter dive, and also took top place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 289.00.
RPI's Aimee Catroppa (Scotia, NY/ Burnt Hills-Ballston) took first place in the 200 breastroke with a time of 2:30.99 and also helped the Red Hawks to a first-place finish in 800 freestyle relay with a time of the 8:09.45.
The Union teams are back in action on Saturday, January 20 when the Dutchmen and Dutchwomen host Middlebury in a 2 p.m. dual meet.
