SCHENECTADY, NY -- Union senior Brianne Phillips (West Hartford, CT/Conard) and junior Molly Freeman (Barrington, IL/Barrington) won two events each to lead the Dutchwomen in a home swimming & diving meet vs. Middlebury Saturday. The visiting Panthers won, 160-136, as the Dutchwomen lost for the first time in five decisions.
Phillips took first in the 50 free at 32.05, and also won the 100 back, touching at 1:09.94. Freeman, the latest Liberty League Diver of the Week, won the one meter event at 263.31, and also the three meter diving competition with a score of 264.90.
Mary Kate Baumann (Armonk, NY/Byram Hills) led Union with a win in the 100 fly at 1:02.12, and Amy Nestlerode (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) was first in the 100 back at 1:02.77.Sydnie Wells (Bolton Landing, NY/Bolton Central) was first in the 50 fly at 27.93 and the 200 free relay won for the Dutchwomen, featuring Christa White (Washington, DC/Choate Rosemary), Nestlerode, Mary Larkin (Conklin, NY/Susquehanna Valley) and Maria Prendergast (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) at 1:42.56.
