SCHENECTADY, NY -- Freshman guard Nick DiMaggio (Croton-on-Hudson, NY/Croton-on-Hudson) has been named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week. DiMaggio was named to the All-Tournament Team at Union's Sig Makofski Invitational.

In the championship game against #15 Bates, DiMaggio scored a career high 31 points. He made six of seven three point attempts, and 10 of 15 shots from the floor. He also converted five of six free throw attempts. DiMaggio's 31 point effort was the first 30 point effort by a Dutchman since John Cagianello scored 34 in a February 10 home win vs. St. Lawrence last season.

Union, 3-7, opens Liberty League play January 9 at Skidmore, and continues a busy week with league games at Rensselaer Friday and Vassar Saturday.
