LATHAM, NY -- Vassar's men's tennis team won its third straight match and improved to 8-3 on the spring season with a 7-2 victory over the Dutchmen, who fell to 1-1 on the season on Sunday at the Tri-City Fitness & Tennis Center.
Junior Tom Haynes (Hanover, NH/Hanover) won in the #6 singles match for the Dutchmen over Vassar's Oliver Singer (New York, NY/ Colleiage) in a three game series, 6-2, 5-7 and 10-3. Freshman John Troper (Short Hills, NY/Miliburn) and fellow freshman Sam Ringel (Winnetka, IL/New Trier) won their matchup together in the second doubles match over Jared Mayer (Mill Neck, NY/ Alpha Omega Academy) and Jeremy Rosen (Paramus, NJ/ Paramus) to pull out the second win for Union.
Union competes against Rensselaer Wednesday at home at 4 p.m.
