TROY, NY -- Steve Schapp (Torrington, CT) and Brian Scarlett (Lutherville, MD) were winners along with Liberty League weekly award winner Kevin Kewin (Brockport, NY) for the Union men's swimming & diving team at RPI, but the Dutchmen lost Friday night, 128-103.
Schapp won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:06.84, over 31 seconds better then the runner up in the event. He also was first in the 500 free with a time of 4:59.18.
Scarlett took first place in the 100 backstroke for the Dutchmen at 54.97. Kewin won the 200 individual medley with his time of 2:00.13.
The 200 medley relay team for Union was first, featuring Scarlett, Nathan Seder (Belmont, MA), Kevin Jung (Livingston, NJ) and Todd Herman (Bala Cynwyd, PA). Union had a time of 1:40.07 in that event.
Union, which has not been home since hosting the Liberty League Championships November 30 and December 1, hosts Amherst Thursday, January 24 at 6 p.m.
