SCHENECTADY, NY – Senior defenseman
Lane Caffaro scored a goal for the third straight game, but it wasn't enough as Quinnipiac earned a 6-3 victory against the Dutchmen at Messa Rink on Friday. Union goes to 4-3-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the conference, while the Bobcats improve to 3-4-1 and 1-1-1 in ECAC Hockey.
Caffaro is currently on a four game scoring streak along with
Stéphane Boileau, who registered an assist on Union's second goal.

Jason Walters each scored a goal, while senior right-winger
Chris Potts and sophomore center
Justin Pallos both tallied assists.
Sophomore goaltender
Corey Milan made 30 saves in his eighth start of the season. The Great Barrington, MA native entered the contest with a 2.36 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.
Union came on strong in the final period with 21 shots, bringing its game total to 35. Quinnipiac finished with 36 shots.
Caffaro's goal came at 15:47 on a wrist shot in the slot on a pass from Potts. Pallos had the second helper.
Earlier in the game and trailing 2-0 late in the in the first period, Cook got Union on the board with his second goal of the season and in as many games. After a Bobcat miscue, the senior co-captain raced into the offensive end on a two-on-one. First looking to pass, Cook squared and picked the far corner from the left face-off dot.
Quinnipiac rebounded early in the second with a power play goal by sophomore defender Zach Hansen at 3:22 into the period. Seniors Bryan Leitch and David Marshall both picked up assists.
The Dutchmen kept pushing and Walters pulled the score to 3-2 when he sniped the right-hand corner after Boileau won a face off deep in the Bobcats zone. The goal, which came at 7:56, was Walters second of the season. The assist was Boileau's team-leading fifth.
Once again Quinnipiac answered back and Leitch registered his second goal of the game with a shot that beat Milan, who was screened. The power play goal was set up by senior defenseman Dan Henningson.
Leitch, who scored his team's fifth goal as well, helped the Bobcats jumped out to an early lead when he scored on a rebound only 1:15 into the contest. Junior right-winger Greg Holt sent a headman pass to junior center Eric Lampe, who fired a shot on net. The rebound kicked out to Leitch for his first goal of the season.
The Bobcats struck again at 7:03 with a power play goal from the point by senior defenseman Matt Sorteberg. The play was set up by sophomore defenseman Zach Hansen and Leitch.
Quinnipiac netminder Nick Pisellini made 32 saves for his third win of the season. The freshman has accounted for all of his team's wins this season and entered the game with a 1.07 goals-against average.
The Dutchmen return to Messa Rink on Saturday, Nov. 15 for a 4 p.m. start against ECAC Hockey preseason favorite No. 11/12 Princeton.
