SCHENECTADY, NY – The Union men's swimming & diving team had a strong showing on Senior Day with a 131-98 triumph over Hamilton at the Alumni Gym Pool Saturday. Diver
Steve Cohen (Media, PA) and fellow seniors
Shane Hubbell (Plattsburgh, NY) and
Nathan Seder (Belmont, MA) were honored before the meet, and Cohen qualified for the NCAA consideration by winning the three meter dive with a score of 284.48.
Junior
Kevin Kewin (Brockport, NY) won the 200 IM with a time of 157.80, and also took the 200 breast with a clocking of 157.60.
Steve Schapp (Torrington, CT) had a first place finish in the 1650 free at 17:00.69, winning by nearly 14 seconds. He also won the 500 free at 4:59.20.
Also leading the Dutchmen was
Todd Herman (Bala Cynwyd, PA), who won the 200 free at 1:46.94.
Brian Scarlett (Luthersville, MD) had a time of 1:46.94 to win the 200 free. The 400 medley relay team of
Jack Honor (Plattsburgh, NY), Seder,
Lucas Tiziani (Seekonk, MA) and
Kevin Jung (Livingston, NJ) won at 3:47.04. The 400 free relay team for Union was first at 3:18.36, featuring Herman, Jung, Scralett and Kewin.
Union competes at Ithaca next Saturday, February 9.
