ITHACA, NY – Ithaca defeated Union, 128-109 in a men's swimming & diving meet Saturday.
Union was led by senior diver Steve Cohen (Media, PA), who won both the one meter and three meter diving competitions. His one meter score was 214.40 and he took the three meter dive by a dominating score of 244.25. That total was over 30 points higher then the second place finisher.
Also leading the Dutchmen was junior
Kevin Kewin (Brockport, NY). He was first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.91, and also won the 200 backstroke, touching at 1:58.68.
Other highlights for Union included a win by
Steve Schapp (Torrington, CT) in the 1000 free at 10:19.87 and
Lucas Tiziani (Seekonk, MA) and
Kevin Jung (Livingston, NJ) with a first place finish in the 200 fly at 2:00.96. The 400 medley relay team of
Brian Scarlett (Lutherville, MD), Nathan Seder (Belmont, MA), Tiziani and Kewin won at 3:41.91.
Union competes at the UNYSCSA Championships February 27 through March 1.
