Dutchmen tennis downs RPI for fifth place at Liberty League Championships

CANTON, NY -- Union secured fifth place and bounced back from a loss to Hobart to defeat RPI, 7-2 at the Liberty League Men's Tennis Championships at St. Lawrence Saturday. It was the second win of the week for the Dutchmen over the Red Hawks, and senior Tom Haynes (Hanover, NH) was one of the stars with victories in singles and doubles.

Haynes downed Alex Franz in straight sets at #3, 6-3, and 6-4, and joined Joe Wold (Casper, WY) for a doubles win of 8-1 at #3. Other singles winners for the Dutchmen were Vik Ravikumar (Briarcliff Manor, NY), Matt Goodnow (Boxborough, MA), Sam Ringel (Winnetka, IL) and Mike Kanner (Scarsdale, NY).

Kanner and Goodnow won 8-2 at the #2 doubles slot for Union, which is at Hartwick on April 22.
