Baumann, Burdett pace Dutchwomen to swim meet win over Hartwick

SCHENECTADY, NY -- Kirstin Burdett and Mary Kate Baumann were individual winners lead the Union women's swimming & diving team to a victory over Hartwick Saturday at the Alumni Gym pool. The Dutchmen defeated the Hawks, 133-110, but lost to Springfield, 151-92

On the men's side, the Dutchmen also defeated Hartwick, 144-95, but lost to the Pride, 132.50-110.50.

Burdett's time of 2:14.54 was first in the 200 back, and Baumann came in at 5:21.19 to win the 500 free. The 400 medley relay team of Burdett, Kaleigh Ahern, Andrea Marois and Suzanne Foley won at 4:08.98. The Dutchwomen also took the 400 free relay event. Kelly Geary, Lexi Bascom, Marois and Taylor Connolly touched at 3:44.36 for first place.

Steve Schapp took first in the 1000 free with a time of 10:02.31. His clocking of 4:51.89 was victorious in the 500 free. Lucas Tiziani had a time of 2:01.33 to win the 200 fly, and joined Brian Scarlett, Alex Boyd and #Chris Heske for a win in the 400 medley relay. Union won that event with a time of 3:39.37.
Scarlett was the winner of the 200 backstroke at 2:02.22. 

Union returns home next Friday, January 16, to host RPI.
