SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – On the second day of the Skidmore Invitational, the Union College volleyball team dropped its two final matches of the weekend on Saturday. The Dutchwomen dropped to Cortland 1-3 (25-19, 23-25, 19-25, 24-26) and to New Paltz 0-3 (17-25, 18-25, 24-26).
Against Cortland, senior
Rachel Ormsby had 10 kills and made five blocks. Sophomore
Eve Richards recorded 18 digs while making nine kills and three blocks. Senior captain
Veronica Mynders added 27 digs and junior
Erika VanValkenburg notched 29 assists.
Against New Paltz, VanValkenburg made 27 assists and 10 digs while Mynders had 25 digs. Junior
Bridget Little led the Dutchwomen with nine kills and three blocks while Ormsby recorded seven kills and three blocks.
