After a week off from the ice, the Union College women's ice hockey team will return to action this weekend, stepping out of conference play and heading to Syracuse, N.Y., to face the Orange (6-6-1, 1-1-0 College Hockey America) for two games, the first meeting in school history. Both games on Saturday and Sunday start at 2 p.m.

The Dutchwomen (2-9-1, 0-5-1 ECAC Hockey) made a strong performance at home two weeks ago against Brown and Yale, respectively. In addition to the performance, Union is currently riding a 23 consecutive penalty kill streak, the longest streak this season in that category.

Freshman goaltender Alana Marcinko made 24 saves against Brown to preserve her second career shutout.

Against Yale, freshman forward Jeannie Sabourin scored her first career goal in the middle of the second period to potentially tie the game at one apiece. Sabourin will look to build off her first goal and extend it at Syracuse.

About Syracuse

The Orange are coming off a 5-4 loss to ECACH member Colgate. But the Dutchwomen will be facing two freshman forwards that are in the top five in points in the CHA. Holly Carrie-Mattimoe is fourth with five points while Isabel Menard is fifth with four.

Carrie-Mattimoe is currently in a three-way tie for first in assists with four. In front of the net for Syracuse is senior Lucy Schoedel. Schoedel leads the CHA in save percentage with a .939 and is second in goals against average with a 1.50.
