After completing a season-long six game homestand, the Union College women's ice hockey team hits the road for the first time in this 2010 year to face Yale on Friday at 7 p.m., and Brown on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Fans can follow the Dutchwomen on the road through live stats or live video through the Internet at yalebulldogs.com and brownbears.com.

Union met both schools in Schenectady back in November. Although the Dutchwomen lost 2-1 to the Bulldogs, they skated a 0-0 tie against the Bears in one of Union's best performances all season.

Between the pipes, freshman goaltender Alana Marcinko has been spectacular. In 16 games played, she has recorded 437 saves to place her eighth in the program's all-time list. Her .916 save percentage is fourth best in ECAC Hockey.

As sophomore forward Lauren Hoffman continues to lead the team in assists with five and in points with seven, four other Dutchwomen have produced six points this season. Freshman forward Rhianna Kurio recorded a career-high of two assists in a single game on Dec. 11 against Maine to reach six points this season.

Along with Kurio are junior forwards Marissa Gentile and Callee Heywood, who have each recorded a goal and an assist in the last four games, and sophomore forward Émilie Arseneault, who posted her second assist on the season last Saturday against St. Lawrence.

Scouting Yale

Yale concluded it's non-conference schedule last weekend at Boston College. The Bulldogs lost the first game 1-4 on Saturday and played to a 3-3 tie the next day.

Friday's game against Union will be the first ECAC Hockey game for the Bulldogs since Dec. 5 at Colgate, which the team won 3-0.

Junior forward Bray Ketchum leads the team in goals and points, having scored seven goals and posting four assists to combine 11 points. Sophomore forward Aleca Hughes follows Ketchum with 10 points (6-4-10).

Three goaltenders have played at least one game this season. Junior Jackee Snickeris has played 13 games, carrying a 2.87 goal against average and a .907 save percentage. Sophomore Genny Ladiges has played six games (2.44 GAA, .898 save percentage) and freshman Erin Callahan has played only one (3.00 GAA, .800 save percentage).

Scouting Brown

The Bears are coming off a thrilling 5-5 draw against then-ranked No. 10 Boston University last Sunday. Since the new year began, Brown has only played two games (against Boston U. and Vermont on Jan. 3, which it won 2-0).

With the non-conference schedule over, Brown will now finish the season with ECAC Hockey competition beginning against Rensselaer on Friday at 7 p.m.

Friday's game against the Engineers will be Browns first ECAC Hockey game since Dec. 5, a 5-0 loss at Cornell.

Sophomore defensemanPaige Pyettand freshman forward Laurie Jolin both lead the team with seven points each. Pyett has scored one goals and posted six assists, which is also a team high. Jolin has two goals and five assists.

Senior forward Sasha Van Muyen leads the team in goals, having scored five this season.

Freshman Katie Jamieson has played 15 games between the pipes. Jamieson has a 3.05 goals against average and a .914 save percentage. Junior Joy Young has played two game this season, carrying a 4.07 GAA and a .850 save percentage.

Brown has left an empty net on seven occasions. In 5:04, the Bears has not allowed a goal.
