Williams wins in field hockey, 3-1

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA --
Three different players scored a goal each to lead Williams College to a 3-1 non-league field hockey win over Union College Wednesday afternoon. The Ephs improved to 3-9 on the year while the Dutchwomen fell to 7-6.

Meera Sivalingam scored at 3:18 of the first and Amy McLaughlin made it 2-0 at the 30 minute mark. Karyn Moss scored 7:28 into the second half for a 3-0 advantage for the hosts. 

Union got on the board at 66:12 when Tara Opalinski got a pass from Kelsey Powers.

Union had a 20-19 shot advantage, including a 15-4 advantage in the second half. Sarah Rios made seven saves for the Dutchwomen while Katrina Tulla stopped eight in over 66 minutes for Williams. Ariana Spiliotes played nearly four minutes in net but did not make a save.

Union had 12 corners to Williams' six.

The Dutchwomen have a big weekend lined up to close out the Liberty League regular season. Union plays at Hamilton Saturday and at St. Lawrence Sunday.
