With the victory, the Dutchmen improved to 4-1 on the season, while the Purple Eagles fell to 0-1-2.

Presizniuk moved into sole possession of 11th on the school's all-time scoring list at 8:55 finishing off a give-and-go with junior forward Kelly Zajac.

Just under a minute later, Welsh scored his fifth goal in as many games from a sharp angle to put Union ahead 3-0 at 9:51.

Senior forward Justin Pallos chased Niagara goaltender Carsen Chubak with a goal from the side boards at 12:01.

Niagara forward Scott Arnold scored at 17:12 to spoil Kinkaid's shutout bid.
