Box Score 2 SOUTH HADLEY, MA -- The Union College volleyball team reached the championship of the Volleyball Hall of Fame Invitational at Mount Holyoke Saturday.
Union defeated WPI earlier in the day in five games by scores of 22-25, 25-17, 16-25, 27-25 and 15-12.
That put the Dutchwomen into the Championship Match. But the Dutchwomen lost to Bridgewater State in four games, 25-18, 25-21, 19-25 and 25-21. Union is now 17-11.
In the first match of the day,
Erika VanValkenburg had 22 digs, and it helped lead her to being named to the All-Tournament Team.
Jordan Remillard had eight kills and seven blocks while
Eve Richards recorded 15 digs and six blocks.
Mackenzie Westfall had 35 assists and
Casey Tepper added 14 kills with nine digs.
Union returns to action Tuesday at SUNY Oneonta at 6 p.m.
