SCHENECTADY, NY – Despite taking two wins in doubles action, the Union College men's tennis team was defeated in singles competition and Hamilton College defeated the Dutchmen 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon at Union Tennis Courts on Senior Day.
It was the final home match for senior
Sam Ringel, who competed in No. 1 doubles with
Dan Nault. The duo suffered an 1-8 loss to Jon Franzel and Drew Libin.
Saul Kurtz and Mike Kanner picked up the win in No. 2 doubles, defeating Mike Moreno and Jordan Petit 8-5.
Alex Katz and
Matt Goodnow defeated Greg Kreitzer and Coby Berman, 8-6, in No. 3 doubles.
Nault closed the match defeating Franzel, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6, in the No. 1 singles spot.
The Dutchmen travels to cross-town rival Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Thursday at 4 p.m.
