SCHENECTADY, NY -- The #11 Union College women's lacrosse team improved to 5-0 in the Liberty League with a 15-1 triumph over Clarkson Friday afternoon at Frank Bailey Field. The Dutchwomen, 8-5 overall, have won six of the last seven, while the Golden Knights fell to 0-7 in the league and 6-8 overall.

Kristin Joyce,
Ally Boertzel,
Tory Cameron and
Jill LaForest notched two each to highlight the home performance. The Dutchwomen got single goals by
Melissa Hine and
Brittany Fraser, while Hine and Casey Diani dished out two assists each. Katie VanDeValk scored the lone Clarkson goal.
Union had a 33-12 shot advantage, including 20-7 in the first half. The Dutchwomen also had 25 ground balls and were successful on 14 of 16 clear attempts while holding Clarkson to a six for 15 success mark.
The Dutchwomen scored the first eight goals of the contest for an 8-0 lead with 10:29 left in the first half. Joyce notched her 53rd and 54th goals of the year during that span. After VanDeValk put Clarkson on the board with 7:28 left, Stohler's 11th of the year with 3:34 left in the half provided the 9-1 advantage. Union scored all six second half goals, including the second and third of the day for Charette. LaForest capped off the scoring with 3:50 left with her 25th of the season.
Cat Ruggiero made all seven Union saves in nearly 53 minutes in the Dutchwomen nets before resting with the big lead. Hannah Walters stopped 15 Dutchwomen shots for Clarkson
Union is back home Saturday to face St. Lawrence at 3 p.m. at Frank Bailey Field.
