Men's Swimming Defeats Hamilton; Women Fall

CLINTON, NY- The men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in a Liberty League meet with Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.

The women were edged out 125-114. Kaleigh Ahern won two races. She won the 200 IM in a time of 2:15.65 which was just .03 seconds ahead of Hamilton swimmer Elizabeth Bucceri. Ahern was also the winner of the 100 breast in 1:08.39. Danielle Young won the 200 freestyle in 1:58.74. She was also on the winning 200 relay team along with Priscilla Wright, Suzanne Foley, and Taylor Connolly that came in with a time of 1:43.58. Erica Fugger won the 100 free in 55.32 which was just .25 ahead of Young. Andrea Marois was first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.83.
 
The men won 135-102. Adam Herzog won two races. He was the winner of the 1000 free with a time 10:12.26. He also won the 500 free in a time of 4:56.94. Zach Wahl won the 100 butterfly in a time of 53.02 which was .53 ahead of fellow teammate Lucas TizianiMichael Mooney was the winner of the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.50. Alex Boyd won the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.90. Boyd was also on the 200 medley relay team along with Brian Scarlett, Billy Phillips, and Kevin Jung that won in 1:37.93. 
 
Ian Drillinger won both the one and three meter dives with scores of 290.17 and 298.58.
 
The teams return home next Saturday at 2 pm to face Ithaca in their final meet of the season.
