VIRGINIA BEACH, VA -- Senior
Eve Richards was named to the All-Tournament Team and the Union women's volleyball team went 1-1 in the final day of the tournament Saturday.
Union won in four against Hollins, 25-16, 25-17, 23-25 and 25-21. The Dutchwomen ended the tournament with a loss to McMurray in three close contests, 24-26, 21-25 and 23-25. Union is now 2-2 on the young season.
In the Hollins match, Richards had 13 kills and
Casey Tepper added 10 kills while serving up five aces. Marissa Volmer led the defensive effort with 28 digs.
Richards once again had 13 digs and
Claire Kokoska had 13 kills against McMurray.
Kim Armstrong posted 30 assists and
Nora Wood finished with seven kills.
Union will compete in the Ithaca Tournament next Friday and Saturday, September 9 and 10.
