POTSDAM, NY - The Dutchwomen shut out Bard College 3-0 Friday night at Clarkson University, after falling to St. Lawrence University 1-3. Union fought along side St. Lawrence with close scores of 23-25, 21-25, 26-24, and 21-25 in the first match of the evening. The squad bounced back to defeat Bard with scores of 25-13, 25-10 and 25-17.
Sophomore
Marissa Vollmer led the team in digs with 26, while senior
Eve Richards tallied 21 kills. Sophomore
Mackenzie Westfall took charge as Union's setter, assisting on 43 points against the Saints. Senior
Mary Foley had six kills and made five blocks while freshman starter
Claire Kokoska recorded 11 kills. Sophomore
Casey Tepper rounded out the match with six kills and 18 digs.
In their second match, Union dominated the Raptors in three sets. Westfall made 34 assists, bringing her evening total to 77. Richards had 13 kills, while freshman
Rajpreet Dhaliwal and Foley each tallied five.
The Dutchwomen are back in action Saturday, October 1st, taking on Vasser at 11:00 a.m. and Clarkson University at 1:00 p.m.
