Trojanowski paces women’s swimming in dual meet losses to Hartwick and Springfield

ONEONTA, N.Y. - Anne Trojanowski was the top finisher in the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 200-yard butterfly. However, the Dutchwomen were defeated by Hartwick and Springfield with scores of 105-125 and 87-141 Saturday afternoon.
 
Trojanowski times in the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 200-yard butterfly came in at 10:50.38 and 2:25.38 respectively.
 
Union had two finishers in the top-three in the 200-yard backstroke event as Brittany Kenny and Emily Opolski were milliseconds apart taking second and third. Kenny was timed at 2:17.19 while Opolski was clocked in at 2:17.49.
 
In the 200-yard breaststroke event, Rachel Clegg came away as the second place finisher with a time of 2:37.96 while Trojanowski also came away with a runner-up finish in the 500-yard freestyle, being timed at 5:19.96.
 
The 400-yard freestyle relay took second as well defeating Springfield but falling to Hartwick as Diana Fletcher, Madeline Ashworth, Danielle Proper and Jaine Cerutti combined for a time of 3:55.17.
 
On the boards, Sarah Dimmitt placed fourth in both the 1mtr and 3mtr events with scores of 210.25 and 209.40 respectively.
 
Union will return to Alumni Gymnasium Pool, as the Dutchwomen will host rival RPI on Friday, January 11 starting at 6:00 p.m.
