RESULTS
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's swimming and diving team had four event wins but fell to Amherst College 198-101 in their first regular meet of the season.
Junior swimmer
Andrew Welch took first place in the 100 yard and 200 yard backstroke events. Senior swimmer
Zack Wahl took home the 100 yard butterfly event. Freshmen
John Enquist and
Benjamin Nadareski won their first career events in the 200 yard breaststroke and 50 yard freestyle events.
Sophomore
Matthew Hellauer captured second place in the 1000 yard freestyle. Wahl added another four points for the Dutchmen in a second place finish in the 200 yard butterfly.
Senior
Adam Herzog earned six points for the Dutchmen with third place finishes in the 200 and 500 yard freest events. Enquist also added a three points in addition to his win after finishing third in the 100 yard breaststroke. Senior Billy Phillip also added three points for the Dutchmen with a third place finish in the 100 yard butterfly. Welch was the final Dutchmen to add three points to the Dutchmen total with a third place finish in the 200 Yard IM.
Sophomore
Cameron Robertson and junior
Jeremy Sagaille finished in third and fourth place in the one and three meter diving events.
The Dutchmen return to action next weekend when they travel to Williamstown to take on Williams College at 12 p.m.
