SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Union College women's ice hockey looks to improve upon their 1-1-0 record against conference foes when they travel to Colgate and #3 Cornell for their first road conference matches of the season.

The Dutchwomen will kick of their ECAC road schedule by taking a trip to Hamilton, N.Y. for a 7 pm matchup with the Raiders. They will follow that game by traveling southwest to Ithaca, N.Y. for a 4 pm matchup with #3 Cornell on Saturday afternoon.

Last Time Out
Last weekend the Dutchwomen opened up ECAC play by welcoming Dartmouth and #7 Harvard to the confines of Messa Rink for matchups on Friday and Saturday. Despite never earning a win against either club in their previous 20 meetings the Dutchwomen played impressively against both opponents. They picked up their first program win against Dartmouth in a 3-0 shutout on Friday evening and followed that by losing a close 3-0 bout on Saturday against Harvard.
  • The Dutchwomen opened the scoring mid-way through the first period when senior forward Mac Purvis tallied her first goal of season off a feed from sophomore forward Jessica Kaminsky. The play was set up also set up by junior forward Christine Valente who fed a puck to the corner for Kaminsky. Kaminsky rifled a pass to Purvis who tricked a shot through the goaltender's legs. The eventual game winning goal was scored at the 10:19 mark of the period.
  • The Dutchwomen added two more goals in the second period to gain the 3-0 advantage. Freshman defenseman Kathryn Davis opened up the second period scoring with a blast from the point that beat Dartmouth goaltender Katie Milligan high to the blocker side. Davis was set up by a cross-zone pass from sophomore forward Courtney Turner. Senior forward Stefanie Thomson also assisted on the play after a drop pass in the corner led to the Turner pass at the 8:44 mark of the second period.
  • The third period was all junior goaltender Shenae Lundberg as she stopped the final 10 shots she faced. The Dutchwomen took four penalties in the period but Lundberg stood strong as she made save-after-save through traffic. She ended the game with a 25-save shutout, the second of her career.
  • Sophomore forward Kathryn Tomaselli added the final Dutchwomen goal under three minutes later when she blasted a shot through Milligan's five-hole at point-blank range after a feed from the corner from Turner. Once again the play was set up by Thomson who made a drop pass to Turner in the corner at the 11:23 mark of the period.
  • Dartmouth outshot Union 25-18 in the game, including outshooting them 10-0 in the final stanza. For the first time this year the Dutchwomen tied an opponent in face-offs, with both teams earning 29 wins in the circle.
  • The first few minutes of the period plagued the Dutchwomen in the second matchup as all three Crimson goals were scored within the first 3:30 of the first and second period. Harvard opened up the game when Marissa Gedman scooped up a loose puck and bounced a shot off a defender's shin pad and through the five-hole of Lundberg.
  • The Dutchwomen had a slow start to the second period as Miye D'Oench tallied two goals just 2:07 apart to give the Crimson their 3-0 lead.
  • Junior goaltender Shenae Lundberg had another impressive day, racking up 22 saves including multiple saves on the penalty kill against a Crimson squad that leads the nation on the power play. Lundberg made 10 stops in the final period alone despite being pulled for 2:51 in favor of an extra attacker.
