FORT PIERCE, FL - The Union College Dutchwomen traveled down to Florida to square off against the reigning NJCAA Champions, Indian State River College. The Pioneers took the non-conference matchup, besting the Dutchwomen 197.5-69.5 on Wednesday afternoon.Christina Belforti had the best individual finish during the meet as she placed second in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 29.39. The sophomore also took home a second place finish in the 50-yard butterfly and was a part of the 200-yard medley relay of Belforti,
Lily Suhanovsky,
Christy Brown and
Alexis Wojtowicz who placed third with a time of 2:00.34
Also earning a third place finish was the 200-yard freestyle relay team comprised of Wojtowicz, Brown,
Heather Wright and
Lindsay Hemminger who touched the wall with a time of 1:46.66.
On the diving side,
Clara Shealy and
Sarah Dimmitt each earned nine points a piece for Union. Shealy scored 236.61 to win the 1-meter while Dimmitt scored 232.42 to win the 3-meter.
Union will be back in action as they host Springfield and Hartwick for a tri-meet on January 11th.
