SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Union's men's tennis team closed the home portion of its 2013-14 season with a 6-3 loss to SUNY Oneonta in non-conference action from the Union Tennis Courts.
Oneonta built a 2-1 match lead after winning the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles flights.
Spencer Fontein and
Anthony Laurencio joined forces to earn Union's double point at the No. 2 spot.
Union rallied behind victories from
T.J. Moor and
Grant Zaccareo at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively.  Moor avenged a straight set loss to Michael Kennelly last year with a 6-4, 6-4 win while Zaccareo was pushed to three sets in his 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Mackenzie Park.
The Red Dragons (7-10) won the four remaining matches to seal the win.  The No. 5 singles match was especially competitive, as Ryohei Nakamura edged
Michael Donadio, 7-5, 6-4.
Union (2-7) plays its last regular season match tomorrow at Hartwick (4:00 p.m.), before traveling to the Liberty League Tournament on Friday.
