ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Union College's men's tennis season came to an end Friday with a 5-0 setback to Vassar in the Liberty League Tournament Quarterfinals. Due to rain, the match was moved indoors to the Goergen Athletic Center on the University of Rochester campus.
The third-seeded Brewers swept the doubles competition, which included a hard-fought battle at No. 2 as
Spencer Fontein and
Anthony Laurencio fell to Christian Phelps and Sha Huang, 8-6. Vassar went up, 4-0, after taking the No. 3 singles flight then sealed the team win on Nick Litsky's straight sets victory (6-2, 6-1) over
Grant Zaccareo at No. 2 singles.
The Dutchmen, seeded sixth in the tournament, finished their 2013-14 campaign with a 2-8 overall record.
