CLINTON, NY- The Union College men's swimming and diving team fell to Hamilton College by a score of 157-141 on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen took first in seven individual events and in one relay.
John Enquist and
Benjamin Nadareski totaled five first palce finishes for Union with Enquist taking home a trio of first place showings to pace the Dutchmen. The sophomore took first in the 100-yard back, 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM. Nadareski, the reigning Liberty League and ECAC Swimmer of the Week, took first in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events.
Rounding out the the top finishers on the swimming side was the 200-yard medley relay team of Nadareski,
Andrew Welch,
Nathan Singer and
Brendan McClure.
Welch had a trio of second place showings in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard butterfly. Also placing second was McClure in the 500-yard free and 200-yard free.
Matthew Hellauer placed second in the 1,000-yard freestlye for Union.
The 400-yard freestyle relay quartet of Nadareski, McClure,
Dan Steinmetz and Enquist placed second in the final event of the meet.
On the diving side, the Dutchmen swept the top three spots in both events.
Jeremy Sagaille claimed top honors in the 3-meter with a score of 276.15 and
Sam Hoyt won the 1-meter with 299.47 points. Hoyt and
Cameron Robertson rounded out the top three in the 3-meter while Sagaille and Robertson placed second and third in the 1-meter diving event.
Union will return to action for their final dual meet of the season next Saturday as they host Ithaca at 2:00pm.
