SCHENECTADY, NY - Senior
Anne Trojanowski took home four first place finishes (three individual, one relay) and junior
Sarah Dimmitt broke the school record in the 1 meter 6 dives event with a score of 266.02 as Union fell to Ithaca 173-127 on Senior Day.
Trojanowski had all-around tremendous afternoon as she won the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.91), 200-yard butterfly (2:14.87) and 500-yard freestyle (5:17.37) and was also part of the first place 400-yard freestyle relay team comprised of
Christina Belforti,
Lindsay Hemminger and
Christy Brown. Before the meet she was honored with her fellow seniors on the men's team.
In addition to setting the school record in the 1-meter, Dimmit tied the program record in the 3-meter event with a score of 296.92. The junior placed second in both events.
Belforti claimed two individual first place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard butterfly. She placed second in her other event, the 200-yard backstroke.
Brittany Kenny, fresh off her Liberty League Honor Roll nomination, won one event for the Dutchwomen, winning the 200 IM with a time of 2:17.20.
Brown had two second place finishes for Union in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle while
Alexis Wojtowicz placed second behind Belforti in the 100-yard fly for the Garnet and White.
The Dutchwomen will be off for a few weeks before taking part in the UNYSCSA Championships from February 18-21.
