SCHENECTADY, NY --
Six distinguished individuals and two outstanding teams were inducted into the Union College Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, November 14. The event was held at College Park Hall on campus with nearly 300 friends and family members in attendance.

The Class of 2015 consists of Terry Campbell '91, Joe Clinton '83, Brian Field '98, Molly Flanagan (Larkin) '05, the late Charlie Morrison and Katie Smith (Serrano) '02. The inductees for the Team of Distinction category are the 1965 Baseball Team and the 1983-84 Men's Ice Hockey Team. These new inductees bring the total number of individual members in the Hall of Fame, which was first instituted in 2002, to 73. The Teams of Distinction now features 11 squads, as the category was instituted in 2007. Campbell was not able to attend but provided an acceptance video from overseas.

Here are highlights of this year's inductees.

TERRY CAMPBELL '91

Men's Ice Hockey
Terry Campbell was an unselfish leader that led Union to four consecutive winning seasons from 1987-1991. He led the Dutchmen in scoring during all four seasons and left the program as the all-time leading scorer with 170 career points, a mark that still stands today. He amassed 51 goals and a school-record 119 assists during his tenure and helped guide Union to four consecutive ECAC playoff appearances and one NCAA playoff appearance. As a senior, Campbell capped off an impressive career by being named an ACHA All-American, becoming the first forward in program history to earn such a distinction.

JOE CLINTON '83
Men's Basketball, Baseball

Joe Clinton made an immediate impact for the Union men's basketball program as soon as he suited up in Garnet and White. He set the all-time assists record as a junior and finished his career with 556. Clinton owns the single season and game records for most assists with 182 and 15. He graduated as the third highest scorer all-time with 1,270 points, a mark that now ranks 11th. A two-year team captain, Clinton helped the Dutchmen to an overall record of 20-4 and a NCAA tournament berth during his senior year, earning NABC East Region Second Team, ECAC Upstate First Team and New York State Division III Coaches All-Star accolades. He was awarded the William B. Jaffe Award as a junior and was named to the All-Rookie squads for ECAC and NYS. Clinton was also a standout on the baseball diamond, playing for the Dutchmen in 1982 and 1983.

BRIAN FIELD '98
Swimming & Diving

Brian Field had, by far, the most decorative four-year career in the history of Union diving and is one of the most successful athletes in the history of Union College. Field became Union's first ever National Champion, winning the 1-meter in 1996 and was the National Runner-Up in the 3-meter. A year later as a junior, he was the National Runner-Up in the 1-meter and finished fourth in the 3-meter. In total, Field took home eight All-America honors in the 1- and 3- meter diving events. Field was also the Diver of the Meet at the Upper NY State Men's Collegiate Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championships, helping Union capture four straight state titles. He holds the school record in the 1-meter, 11-dives event with a score of 514.15, won the William B. Jaffe award in 1998 and owns numerous conference and state accolades. He also played football and soccer at Union.

MOLLY FLANAGAN (LARKIN) '05
Soccer, Lacrosse, Ice Hockey

Molly Flanagan is one of the greatest female athletes to ever play at Union. A tremendous student-athlete in both lacrosse and soccer, she collected four All-America honors in lacrosse and two regional All-America nods in soccer. The lacrosse program was 53-16 during her four years, earning two NCAA tournament berths and the sport's first NCAA victory in school history in her freshman year. The team won the Liberty League Championship during her senior season as she was named the league and ECAC Player of the Year. The soccer team went 65-11-6 during her four seasons, making two NCAA appearances during that span. Flanagan graduated as the career point leader in lacrosse history and now sits second with 294 career points. She also spent one season on the ice with the Dutchwomen as a sophomore, posting 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points.

CHARLIE MORRISON
Men's Ice Hockey Head Coach

Charlie Morrison took over a men's hockey program in a difficult time in 1978 and turned the team into a contender, helping to pave the way in the transition from NCAA Division III to Division I. Morrison led the Dutchmen to three straight NCAA tournaments including  the DIII Championship Game in 1983-84, and ranks second all-time with 122 career victories. However, Charlie Morrison's contributions to Union go farther than his team's accomplishments on the ice. Morrison put family and academics first before hockey and molded scores of young, energetic hockey players into grown men and one big family. Many members of that family returned as the 1983-84 team was inducted as well in 2015.

KATIE SMITH (SERRANO) '02
Soccer and Basketball

A four-year starter in both soccer and basketball, Katie Smith filled the stat sheet in both respective sports. Smith got off to a phenomenal start her freshman season in Schenectady, leading the soccer team with 29 points (12 goals, 5 assists) en route to being named the UCAA Rookie of the Year. She finished her soccer career ranked second in all-time scoring list with 39 goals, 19 assists for 97 points. On the basketball court, Smith ranks second all-time with 1,411 career points and is one of just seven players to record 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. She was the soccer team's and UCAA's (later Liberty League) Rookie of the Year in 1988, and also was a UCAA women's basketball First Team All Star and ECAC Second Team all star on the court.

UNION ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME 2015 TEAM OF DISTINCTION INDUCTEES

1965 BASEBALL

Under the guidance of legendary head coach Art Lawrence, the 1965 Union Baseball team went 15-2 overall and captured the NCAA Atlantic Coast Championship, defeating Old Dominion 3-1 in the championship game. Lawrence was named the District Coach of the Year and featured key players such as seniors Gary Brown and Rick Crookes. The Dutchmen knocked off Colby College 5-2 in the semi-finals before squaring off against Old Dominion in the final, held at Yankee Stadium. Other members of the team were Ed Burns, Ron Cherinko, Bruce Fike, Randy Kuhl, Bob McAdams, Larry McDonald, Art Marshall, Greg Olson, Nick Renchkovsky, Bill Toth, Rich Erdoes and Frank D'Allaird.

1983-84 MEN'S ICE HOCKEY
It is only fitting that this team joins its beloved head coach in the same induction class into the Union Hall of Fame. Charlie Morrison led this squad to a 19-11-1 and a berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Game against Babson College. The Dutchmen reached the title game after battling RIT in a grueling four-overtime contest that was decided on a Gil Egan shot from the blue line which some have dubbed "the shot heard around the world" the evening before. The team featured Egan, the current all-time leading goal scorer and co-captain, co-captain Jamie Knight, 10th on the all-time scoring list Joe Caruso, 11th on the all-time scoring list Curt Cole, future All-American in '86 Wayne McDougall, 14th on the all-time  scoring list Tom Hodgins, Scott Richardson, John McKenzie, T.J. Ryan, and future Dallas Stars team member Duane Joyce.
