TROY, NY—The Union College men's swimming and diving team fell 148-94 to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Friday evening. The Dutchmen tallied 15 top three finishes.
The men swept the top-three spots in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions.
Sam Hoyt placed first both events with a score of 294.55 in the 1-meter and 319.95 in the 3-meter. Matt Mintz tallied scores of 259.10 and 285.85. While,
Cameron Robertson finished third with a 251.90 score in the 1-meter and a score of 271.50 in the 3-meter.
John Enquist raked in three first-place finishes in the meet. In the 200-yard individual medley he finished in a time of 1:59.35, while in the 500-yard freestyle he timed 4:56.74. In the 100-yard breaststroke he had a time of 58.78.
In the 1000-yard freestyle,
Brendan McClure finished second with a time of 10:19.92.
Dan Steinmetz timed 22.76 for a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. McClure tallied a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly in 55.18.
Andrew Wojtowicz finished third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.26. Â
Jack Wassik finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:05.14. The quartet of Wojtowicz, McClure, Wassik and Steinmetz teamed together to finish second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Dutchmen go on the road to Middlebury on Saturday, January 16 at 1 p.m.Â
