SCHENECTADY, NY—The Union College women's swimming and diving team celebrated senior day with a 162-138 victory over Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.
The team collected 22 top-three finishes. Six of them came from senior's
Brittany Kenny and
Sarah Dimmitt.
Dimmitt placed first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. In the 1-meter she scored a 266.62 while in the 3-meter she finished with a 300.82. Anna Gaigon placed third in both events. In the 1-meter she tallied 193.58 while in the 3-meter she scored 200.69.
Kenny started off the day by helping the team of
Christina Belforti,
Alexis Wojtowicz and
Christy Brown swim to a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:53.69. Kenny also finished first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:14.78, and in the 200-yard backstroke she finished in 2:15.48 for a first-place finish. She placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.47.
Belforti had three first-place finishes in addition to swimming in the 200-yard medley relay. In the 200-yard freestyle she finished in 1:57.85, while in the 100-yard backstroke she finished in 1:02.22. She also swam the 100-yard butterfly in 59.81.
Jennifer Fromm placed third in the 1650-yard freestyle, with a time of 19:05.18. She also placed second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:16.36.
Heather Wright led the quartet of
Naina Thota,
Lindsay Hemminger and Brown to a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:41.79. Wright also placed first three other events. In the 50-yard freestyle she finished in 25.16, she also finished the 100-yard freestyle in 53.95. She swam the 500-yard freestyle in 5:16.84.
Emilee Nason placed third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:27.63. Brown placed third in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.41.
Jennifer Nutter tallied a third-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:16.93 and
Cara McCarthy posted a third-place spot in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:39.42.
