ROCHESTER, NY - The Union women's hockey won its second straight game after a 2-0 victory over RIT on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first period,
Katie Laughlin opened up the scoring beating the Tigers goalkeeper for her first career goal.
Emily Erickson and
Abby Ellis assisted on the goal scored 14:51 into the second period.
The Dutchwomen took their lead into the second intermission. After a RIT penalty just 19 seconds into the final period, Union made them pay on the powerplay. Haley Shugart won the faceoff and the puck fell to
Caitlyn McLaren who fired one on net. It was saved by Terra Lanteigne but, she was unable to save the next shot by
Abby Ellis who scored to give Union a 2-0 lead just 39 seconds into the third period.
Cheyenne Harris and McLaren assisted on the goal.

Kate Spooner shut the door on the Tigers as she saved all 16 shots that she faced to record her first career shutout and the first for the Dutchwomen since Shenae Lundberg on Dec. 12, 2014.
This was also the last time that Union won two consecutive games as it beat Brown University on Dec. 6, 2014 and University of Maine six days later.
Union is back on the ice tomorrow afternoon as it finishes its two game stretch in Rochester against RIT. Puck drop is scheduled for noon.
