CLERMONT, FL -- Dani Hennel and
Dana Dolinko pitched complete games as Union won a pair of games in action in Florida Wednesday. The Dutchwomen downed Allegeny, 41 behind Hennel and Dolinko defeated Oswego State, 6-1. Union is now 3-5.
In the opener against Allegheny, Hennel allowed seven hits and one run while striking out three in seven innings. Union's balanced offensive attack featured two hits each from
Courtney Casey,
Joanna Chalifoux and
Molly O'Brien, and Chalifoux drove in two runs.
Nikki Ditizio drove in the other run for the Dutchwomen, who had six hits for the game.
Belle Mazurik and Alexis Ryan had two hits each for the Gators. Hailey Marthaler had the lone RBI with a solo homer. Miranda Arison took the loss with eight hits allowed in six innings. She struck out eight and did not walk a batter.
Dolinko gave up six hits and just one run without a walk and one strikeout in her seven inning win over Oswego. Chalifoux had two hits and an RBI and six other players had one hit each for the Dutchwomen.
Alexis Nasca gave up five hits and three earned runs in the start, lasting 1 2/3 innings for the Lakers. Brittney Sears gave up three htis and struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings of relief.
Union closes out the Florida schedule Thursday with games vs. Southern Maine at 11 a.m. and MIT at 1 p.m.
