SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—The Union College men's tennis team dropped a Liberty League match against RIT, 8-1, Saturday afternoon at the Union Tennis courts.
The Dutchmen go to 2-9 overall and 1-3 in the Liberty League, while the Tigers go to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in league play.
RIT carried a 3-0 lead into singles play after sweeping doubles.
Spencer Fontein registered Union's lone win of the day, battling to a three-set come-from-behind win at No. 3, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (12-10).
The Tigers clinched the match when Chandler Daub topped
Max McGeown 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1.
Union plays its third match in four days Sunday, April 17, travelling to Hobart for a 1 p.m. match.
