SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—The Union College men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Wednesday evening at the Union Tennis Courts.
The Dutchmen go to 2-11 overall and 1-5 in the Liberty League, while the Engineers, who rank 13th in the Northeast Region, improve to 7-7 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
RPI managed to take a 3-0 lead into singles play after Anthony Kim and Alain Grullon Gonzalez battled to a 9-7 win against
Spencer Fontein and
Brendan Conry Jr. at No. 1 Doubles.
Stephen Baxter clinched the match for the Engineers with a 6-0, 6-3 win against Fontein at No. 2 singles.
Union hosts Skidmore at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 23.
