SCHENECTADY, NY -- Dani DeGregory had six hits in two games and Skidmore College swept a Liberty League softball doubleheader at Union College, 12-0 (in five innings) and 3-1 at Alexander Field Saturday. The Thoroughbreds improved to 4-4 in the league and 14-20 overall, while the Dutchwomen now stand 2-6 in the league and 7-17 for the season.
In between games, Union Coach
Michelle Connors honored the four seniors playing on their final home date of the careers.

Molly O'Brien were introduced and honored with their families.
In the opener, leadoff batter DeGregory was four for four with four RBIs and Karly Fishkin, the #2 hitter, had two hits and three RBIs to lead the offensive attack. Skidmore had 13 hits and scored in all five innings, including four in the third. Cassie Fishkin, Jill Strleckis and Mary Farrington all had two hits each. Amanda Carilli allowed just three hits in five shutout innings, striking out two.
Cassie Fishkin had an RBI single in the first, while Karly Fishkin's RBI double was the big hit in the second. The Thoroughbreds batted around in the third, highlighted by a two RBI single by DeGregory immediately followed by a two run double by Karly Fishkin. DeGregory also had a two run single in the fourth inning.
Carilli gave up one unearned run in the nightcap, with her 11th win coming on a complete game six hitter. Skidmore scored an unearned run in the first but Union tied it in the third on a RBI single by
Courtney Casey. Lauren Fortunato blasted her third homer of the season for the Thoroughbreds, a two run liner to left, for the 3-1 lead and eventual game winning drive. Fortunato had three hits while DeGregory had two of the team's seven for the game.
Union's
Dana Dolinko, who pitched the opener, allowed seven hits and struck out four without walking a batter. Casey and
Kara Brown had two hits each for the Dutchwomen.
Union is right back in action tomorrow with a league doubleheader at RPI at 1 p.m.
