SCHENECTADY, NY - The Union College women's swimming and diving team fell at the hands of arch rival RPI Friday night at Alumni Gymnasium in Schenectady, NY.
Seniors
Christina Belforti and
Christy Brown as well as first year
Kerry Kelly took home individual wins in the 139-101 loss to the Engineers.
The Dutchwomen started the night out strong with a win in the the 200 yd medley relay finishing with a time of 1:56.90 in the event. Three events later, Brown netted Union's second first place finish of the day with a 25.14 second time in the 50 yd freestyle.
Kelly followed that up with a win in the 400 yd IM finishing with a time of 4:38.32 which was three second clear of the next closest competitor.
Belforti placed first in the 200 yd backstroke with a time of 2:08.03 touching the was a second ahead of RPI's Amanda Wang.
Seniors Belforti and Brown along with
Heather Wright and Lindsay Heminger won the 200 yd freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.50 earning 11 points towards the team's final score.
Union is back in the pool tomorrow as it plays host to Middlebury College at 2:00 p.m. in Alumni Gymnasium.
