CLINTON, NY - The Union College women's swimming and diving team took home 11 event wins in a meet against Hamilton College in Clinton, NY.
A dominant performance in the pool lead the way to a 162-136 victory over Hamilton. This is the Dutchwoman's second team victory in dual meets this season as they Skidmore College on Nov. 12, 2016.
The day started out with a win in the 200 yard medley relay as the team of
Christina Belforti,
Emily Quinn,
Alexis Wojtowicz and Lindsey Hemminger finished with a time of 1:55.41 which was .2 seconds better then Hamilton's top team.
Later in the meet, Union would go 1-2-3 in the 50 yard freestyle as
Christy Brown took home the win at 25.22 seconds while Wojtowicz and
Heather Wright finished just behind her.
Belforti took home wins in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.89, 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:12.54 and the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.01. This was the second straight meet in which Belforti won every event she competed in.
The Dutchwomen will be back in the pool on Jan. 28 when they play host to Ithaca College at Alumni Gymnasium. The meet is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
