Sam Hoyt took home individual victories on the diving board which senior swimmer
John Enquist took won two events for the Union College men's swimming and Diving team in the Springfield Meet Saturday afternoon in Springfield, MA.
The meet featured teams from Union, Springfield College and Hartwick College.
The first diving competition of the day was the 3m event. It was close throughout between Mintz and Hoyt before Mintz claimed the event with a final score of 310.90. Hoyt finished in a close second with a final tally of 304.60.
The NCAA qualifiers would duke it out on the board again in the 1m competition as the pair finished one and two yet again. This time though it was Hoyt who finished atop the leaderboard as he finished with a final score of 345.90. Mintz finished with a score of 270.35.
In the pool, Enquist started out his day with a victory in the 100 yd breaststroke touching a second ahead of Ryan McLoughlin of Hartwick. Enquist finished with a time of 1:01.72. In the 200 yd breaststoke competition, Enquist swam away from the field as his time of 2:13.56 was four seconds clear of McLoughlin.
He would also finish second in the 200 IM and helped the 200 yd medley relay finish second in the meet.
Union is back in the pool on Jan. 13th when it hosts RPI at Alumni Gymnasium at 6:00 p.m.
