SCHENECTADY,  N.Y.—The seventh-ranked Union College men's hockey team scored two power-play goals in a 58-second span to secure a 4-2 win against Princeton, Saturday night at Messa Rink. The Dutchmen, who extend their win streak to three, move to 22-8-2 overall and 15-4-1 in ECAC Hockey, while the Tigers go to 11-13-3 overall and 6-11-3 in league play.

Jeff Taylor produced a goal and an assist to lead Union, extending his point streak to three games (1G-5A). Brett Supinski scored for the second time in as many games, pushing his point streak to four games (2G-3A), while Sebastian Vidmar ran his point streak to five with a pair of assists (2G-6A). Spencer Foo also contributed a pair of helpers, giving him eight points in the last three games (4G-4A) and Nick DeSimone and Greg Campbell rounded out the scoring for Union. In goal, Alex Sakellaropoulos made 34 saves, including 14 in the third period, to improve to 19-4-1.

Princeton's Tommy Davis' broke a scoreless tie 1:10 into the second period. Davis intercepted a pass in the Union zone and walked into the slot before beating Sakellaropoulos with a wrist shot high to the blocker side.

DeSimone provided the answer for Union at 14:08 with his eighth of the year. Foo carried the puck into the offensive zone and fed DeSimone, who slipped behind the Tigers defense. DeSimone made no mistake, rifling a wrist shot a past Princeton goaltender Colton Phinney (28 saves) on the glove side.

The Dutchmen continued to build on the momentum in the third period, taking advantage of their only two power-play opportunities of the contest.

Supinski put Union in front 2-1 at 11:19, finishing off a tic-tac-toe passing play from Vidmar and Mike Vecchione with a one-timer from the slot for his sixth of the season.

Taylor netted what would prove to be the game-winning goal 58 seconds later, burying a one-timer from the right circle on a feed from Foo.  The goal was Taylor's ninth of the season, tying him with Brandon Milnamow '09 for the most by a Union defenseman in a single season.

Princeton cut the deficit to 3-2 at 14:11 when Davis potted his second of the game from a rebound, but Campbell sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 19:31.

Sakellaropoulos came up with a big save to deny Eric Robinson on a one-timer in tight. Taylor kicked the rebound to Campbell, who carried the puck to center ice before depositing a shot into the empty net for the first goal of his career, capping the 4-2 win.

After the game, Union honored the six members of its senior class: Matt Krug, Eli Lichtenwald, Michael Pontarelli, Alex Sakellaropoulos, Jeff Taylor and Mike Vecchione.

The Dutchmen, who remain atop the ECAC Hockey standings, will be in search of their fourth Cleary Cup in program history next weekend when they close out the regular season on the road at No. 12 Cornell (Feb. 24) and Colgate (Feb. 25).
