Men's Lacrosse Meets with FDNY Engine 298/Ladder 127/Battalion 50

JAMAICA, NY -- Following a red eye flight back to New York from California, the Union College men's lacrosse team met with members of the FDNY Engine 298/Ladder 127/Battalion 50 in Jamaica, Queens, NY.

Union first year midfielder Jimmy Connelly's father is the Chief for Battalion 50 and invited the team to come visit the fire house following their flight back last week.

The Dutchmen bonded with members of the fire department over breakfast last week learning the inner workings of the department and what their day is like on a day-to-day basis.

"It was a fantastic experience for the young men on our team to experience a bit of life in a FDNY fire house," coach Paul Wehrum said. "The players on the team enjoyed the camaraderie (sp) of the firefighters who do so much for all of us."

Union is back on the field this afternoon as it plays Wesleyan University at 4:00 p.m. at Frank Bailey Field.
