NEWARK, N.J.—The New Jersey Devils have re-signed former Union College men's hockey goaltender Keith Kinkaid to a two-year contract, Devils President/General Manager Ray Shero announced Thursday evening.
Per the Devils, Kinkaid's contract has an average annual value of $1,250,000. The salary breakdown is as follows: 2017-18: $1,200,000 & 2018-19: $1,300,000.
Kinkaid, who has been a member of the Devils' organization for six seasons, set career highs in games played (26), and saves (713) in 2016-17, producing a record of 8-13-3 and holding a 2.64 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.
The Farmingville, NY, native represented the United States at the 2016 IIHF World Championship in Moscow and St. Petersburg, becoming the first ever Dutchman to be named to Team USA for the IIHF World Championships, and the just second Dutchman to participate in the tournament, joining Mark Szucs '99, who played for Austria in 2002, 2003 and 2004.
A two-time All-ECAC Hockey selection and the 2011 ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year, Kinkaid appeared in 63 games with Union, posting a 2.18 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.
