THIS WEEKEND
With a tough weekend ahead of league games, Union will be back on the road to face No. 4 Colgate and No. 6 Cornell. The two ECAC opponents sit at the top of the league's standings. The Dutchwomen will take on the Raiders at 3 p.m. Friday night, followed by a 3 p.m. puck drop on Saturday against the Big Red.

LAST TIME OUT
Union vs. St. Lawrence – Jan. 12
The Saints shut out the Dutchwomen last Friday night in 0-4 fashion. SLU committed seven penalties, but Union was unable to capitalize on any power play opportunities.

Union vs. Clarkson – Jan. 13
With just four minutes to go in regulation last Saturday, Union trailed No. 3 Clarkson, 3-4. However, as the clock counted down, the defending National Champions went on an unanswered three-goal tear to defeat Union 7-3. Katelynn Russ, Caitlyn McLaren and Makayla Mori each scored during the game, and Arianna Kosakowski recorded two assists.

SCIBA'S OLD STOMPING GROUNDS
The Dutchwomen will head to Colgate this Friday for the first of a two-road game weekend. Before coming to Union, Head Coach Josh Sciba served as the assistant coach at Colgate from 2012-2016. In the 2015-16 season, Sciba helped lead the Raiders to a program-record 22 wins and a No. 8 ranking in the final USCHO.com national poll. He also constructed and managed Colgate's power play, which finished the year ranked seventh in the nation (21.01%).

ALL-TIME VS. THE RAIDERS
Union has never defeated Colgate, dating back to a 1-5 loss in January 1998. With an 0-32-3 all-time series record, the Dutchwomen dropped a pair of games to the Raiders last season, 0-2 and 1-4. Colgate is 20-3-1 this year and tied for first place with Clarkson atop of the ECAC standings. The Raiders are also ranked No. 4 in the USCHO polls as of Jan. 15.

SCOUTING THE BIG RED
The Dutchwomen first met the Big Red during the 2003-04 season. With back-to-back games, Union split the weekend with Cornell. The Dutch's win on Feb. 28, 2004 was the lone victory over the Big Red in program history. All-time, Union is 1-26-1 with the ECAC opponent. Cornell is 11-6-1 so far on the season, ranked fifth in the ECAC and sitting at No. 6 in the USCHO polls as of Jan. 15.

LAST ONE BEST ONE
Union's senior class trio is arguably having the best individual seasons of their respective careers. Defenseman Brandy Streeter scored her first two career goals this season and leads the team with 38 blocked shots. Caitlyn McLaren, a key to Union's power play unit, has four goals and 10 assists on the year, tallying the most points earned in an individual season in her career. She also leads the team in power play assists (6) and power play points (8). Forward Katie Laughlin has four goals and three assists this season alone, and is tied for most power play goals (3). For her first three years, Laughlin had just two goals and five assists.

A CLASS OF HER OWN
The Dutchwomen's lone junior, Arianna Kosakowski has proved to be a huge factor to Union's growing success. Five of Union's six wins this season have come during a game in which Kosakowski scores a point. The Dutch are 1-11 when Kosakowski has not scored a point. The Massachusetts native is having a career-best season in every category. She combined for two goals and four assists in her first two seasons but is currently tied for most points on the team with 15. Kosakowski is at five goals and 10 assists on the season and had two last weekend against Clarkson.

GUESS WHO'S BACK
First year Hannah Schultz will return to the Dutchwomen's lineup this weekend for her first appearances in 2018, as she missed the first four games of the new year due to illness. Schultz was a key to Union's power play unit for the first half of the season and is currently tied with Katie Laughlin for most power play goals on the season (3). She also ranks fifth in the conference in power play goals, two of which have come against league foes.

FOLLOW THE LEADER
Cheyenne Harris leads the team in assists with 11 on the year. With 16 career assists, she has the highest number of assists registered by a Dutchwoman before the end of her sophomore campaign. Maddy Norton, '14, holds the single season record for assists with 18, which she did in the 2013-14 season. Harris is also currently tied for most points on the team (15) and leads in game-winning goals (3). With her three game-winning goals, Harris has tied the record for most in a single season, during the Division I era. Maddy Norton also had three during the 2013-14 season. Harris is also tied for first in ECAC Hockey play for power play points.

SHUGART'S SHOT
Sophomore Haley Shugart earned herself ECAC Player of the Week honors for the week of Dec. 4. Scoring three goals, she led the ECAC in scoring during the respective weekend. Shugart now leads the team in goals with nine on the year, and has three assists. Despite missing the first six games of the season due to injury, Shugart has contributed immensely to the Dutch's success. All six of Union's wins have come since her return to the ice.

TIS' THE SEASON
With the win over Harvard on Jan. 6, the Dutchwomen have snatched their sixth win of the season – surpassing last season's win total (5). The win over Harvard also gave Union its fourth ECAC win of the year, which ties the program record for conference wins and points in a season.
