LAST TIME OUT
Union vs. Colgate – Jan. 19

Union struggled to get going against the No. 4 Raiders last Friday. Colgate defeated the Dutchwomen 6-1 in Hamilton, NY. Sophomore Katelynn Russ scored one goal with the assist from first year Megan Ryan.

Union vs. Cornell – Jan. 20
The Dutchwomen pushed No. 6 Cornell to a thriller of an overtime battle last Saturday. After taking an early lead, Cornell settled the score with the Dutch to end the first period, 1-1. First year Megan Ryan scored on a power play in the second period, to regain the lead for Union. However, Cornell went on a two-goal tear to take their first lead of the night.  With 1:28 left in regulation, Union pulled its netminder Amelia Murray and Katelynn Russ managed to score with the extra attacker. Russ scored two goals in the draw and Murray had an incredible career-high 50 saves.

POINTS ON THE LINE

This weekend poses as a huge opportunity for the Dutchwomen in conference play. With nine conference points, the Dutchwomen sit at 10th place in the league's standings, just one point behind RPI and three behind 8th placed Yale.

ALL-TIME VS. THE ENGINEERS

The Dutchwomen are 3-27-5 all-time when facing off with the Engineers, dating back to January 2000. Last season, Union tied the Engineers in game one of the series, 2-2. The following afternoon, the Dutchwomen fell 1-2 to their Capital District rivals. Union has not defeated RPI since Oct. 20, 2012, when they defeated the Engineers 3-2.

LAST ONE BEST ONE

Union's senior class trio is arguably having the best individual seasons of their respective careers. Defenseman Brandy Streeter scored her first two career goals this season and is tied for the most blocks on the team with 40 blocked shots. Caitlyn McLaren, a key to Union's power play unit, has four goals and 11 assists on the year, tallying the most points earned in an individual season in her career. She also leads the team in power play assists (6) and power play points (8). Forward Katie Laughlin has four goals and three assists this season alone, and is tied for most power play goals (3). For her first three years, Laughlin had just two goals and five assists.

A CLASS OF HER OWN

The Dutchwomen's lone junior, Arianna Kosakowski has proved to be a huge factor to Union's growing success. Five of Union's six wins this season have come during a game in which Kosakowski scores a point. The Dutch are 1-12 when Kosakowski has not scored a point. The Massachusetts native is having a career-best season in every category. She combined for two goals and four assists in her first two seasons and is currently tied for second-most points on the team with 16. Kosakowski is at five goals and 10 assists on the season, along with 40 blocked shots.

FOLLOW THE LEADER
Cheyenne Harris leads the team in assists with 12 on the year. With 17 career assists, she has the highest number of assists registered by a Dutchwoman before the end of her sophomore campaign. Maddy Norton, '14, holds the single season record for assists with 18, which she did in the 2013-14 season. Harris is also currently tied for second-most points on the team (16) and leads in game-winning goals (3). With her three game-winning goals, Harris has tied the record for most in a single season, during the Division I era. Maddy Norton also had three during the 2013-14 season. Harris is also tied for third in ECAC Hockey play in power play points.

THE FUSS WITH RUSS

Sophomore Katelynn Russ is on a three-game scoring streak, in which she has combined for four goals and one assist. This past weekend alone, she had three goals and an assist. In Union's tie against No. 6 Cornell, the Illinois native scored two goals, the second of which tied the game and sent the team into overtime. Russ' two goals on Saturday brought her to nine ECAC goals this season. She now has the highest total goals ever scored in a single season, in ECAC play, by a Dutchwoman. She also leads the team in goals (11) and points (17).

TIS' THE SEASON

With the win over Harvard on Jan. 6, the Dutchwomen have snatched their sixth win of the season – surpassing last season's win total (5). Union's tie against No. 6 Cornell on Saturday was the Dutchwomen's ninth point in ECAC play - the most points earned in a single season in program history.
