Dutchmen win on final race

SCHENECTADY, NY - On a meet that came down to the wire, the Union College Dutchmen prevailed and snapped their six meet losing streak, defeating Hamilton College, 152-139.

Senior Sam Hoyt consistently succeeds for the Dutch, as he won both boards tonight, during his last meet at Union as a Dutchmen.

Owen Perks won both the 100 and 200-yard back stroke events. In the 100, Perks finished in 55.53, along with a 1:59.83 finish during the 200. Joseph Lifrak also had a strong performance in the 50-yard free (23.30).

According to Head Coach Scott Felix, Jack Wassik came up huge with a clutch performance during the 1000 free. The 1000 free consists of a 40 lap race, during which Wassik won by just a tenth of a second.

The men had to win their last relay to help secure tonight's win. With the pressure on, the 200 yard freestyle relay team (Brendan McClure, Lifrak, Wassik and Andrew Wojtowicz) swam their fastest time of the year and won first place with a time of 1:30.36

Union honored its three graduating seniors with tonight's meet, Hoyt, McClure and Matthew Mintz.
