ITHACA, NY - Despite falling to the Bombers, 117-183, the Union College Dutchwomen gave a strong showing in their meet this weekend.
Lindsay Hemminger and
Kerry Kelly each swept three-race victories.
Hemminger's victories, all during freestyle races, were the 50 yard free (24.88), the 100 free (54.08) and the 200 free (2:00.52). The New York native beat all three of her times from last week's competition against Hamilton.
Kelly, a jack of all trades, found victories in the 200 IM (2:15.19), the 100 fly (1:00.23) and the 200 back (2:11.14).
In addition to Kelly and Hemminger's performances, Dutchwomen
Emily Quinn,
Emilee Nason and
Heather Wright each brought home nine points to the team's overall score.
Quinn won the 200 breast in a time of 2:33.23. Nason found success in the 200 fly, finishing at 2:17.86 and Wright in the 500 free with a time of 5:28.47.
Nason also added a second place finish in the 1000 free, reaching the wall at 11:17.07.
The Dutchwomen will break from competition until Feb. 21, when the team will compete in the Liberty League championships back in Ithaca, NY.
